Santhibhavan,meaning “House of Peace,” is a Christian old age home located at Vavvakkavu, near Karunagappally — a place known for its sacred vavvals kavu (bat grove). It was established in 2011 through the heartfelt and generous donation of Sadhasiva Karanavar to the Mar Thoma Church. It was dedicated by Adoor Diocese Bishop Rt Rev.Joseph Mar Barnabas on November 11 2011.
Remarkably, Sadhasiva Karanavar not only gifted the property but also chose to spend the rest of his life at Santhibhavan, living as one among the inmates. His life of humility and service continues to inspire all who visit. He remained there until his peaceful passing in 2024.
Today, Santhibhavan is home to 18 elderly residents, cared for by 5 committed staff members, and functions under the guidance of the Mar Thoma Development Society of the Diocese of Adoor of the Mar Thoma Church. A local advisôry committee (LAC) is in charge of this home Ied by:
